Katy Perry
Nothing ever surprises us when it comes to Katy Perry's hair. The singer recently highlighted her blue hair with strips of purple. To get the look, pull hair tight at the top of your head, leaving one thick lock at the base free and secure in a high ponytail with an elastic. Braid the loose lock of hair and wrap around the base of the ponytail and hold in place with a bobby pin.
Charlize Theron always has the prettiest red carpet hairstyles, and this is no exception. The actress pulled her hair back into a side pony. Instead of using an elastic, she tied a thick strand around the base of the ponytail to create a knot. To keep in place, she secured with bobby pins and hairspray
The key to making a pony red-carpet appropriate is volume. A limp pony looks too sporty. Not only did Selena Gomez go with a voluminous pony, but she also left stray hairs loose on the opposite end to add body and balance the style out.
Taylor Swift's side pony looks simple but looks can be deceiving. The pony is actually kept in place with a braid-twist duo. To recreate, pull hair to the side and separate into two sections. Twist the back section one time to keep shorter hairs in place. Then take a strand from the back section and pull underneath the front section and then loop over. Do the same for the back section and then repeat on the front and back a second time. Secure the strand with bobby pins.
Even though Giuliana Rancic's ponytail is parted in the center, it still exudes an elegant feel. The key is to leave loose strands in the front on both sides to soften the center part.
